Guest Chat
Guest Chat lets you share a web link that opens a conversation with one of your AI avatars. Visitors don't need to create an account — just click and chat.
How It Works
- Navigate to Guest Chat in your dashboard
- Configure settings: message limits, inactivity timeout, link expiry
- Share the generated link (e.g., \
museumai.co/chat/your-museum\) - Visitors open the link, select an avatar, and start chatting
Configuration
Message Limits
Set a maximum number of messages per session to manage interaction usage. When the limit is reached, visitors see a friendly message encouraging them to visit in person.Inactivity Timeout
Automatically end conversations after a period of inactivity (e.g., 5 minutes) to free up resources.Link Expiry
Set guest links to expire after a configurable duration (e.g., 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days) for time-limited promotions or events.Token Validation
Guest chat links use secure tokens to prevent abuse. Each token is validated server-side before granting access.Use Cases

Analytics
All guest chat conversations are tracked in your analytics dashboard, including message counts, duration, ratings, and popular topics.
Supported Languages
Museum AI's text chat supports 10 languages out of the box. Visitors can hold full conversations — including greetings, quick replies, and AI responses — in any of them:

How language selection works
- Auto-detection — On first load, the chat detects the visitor's browser language and switches automatically if it matches one of the 10 supported languages.
- Manual switching — Visitors can change language at any time using the globe icon in the chat header.
- Adaptive UI — The greeting, suggested quick replies, and the AI's responses all switch to the selected language on the fly.
- Per-avatar restriction — In the Avatar settings, you can limit a specific avatar to a subset of these 10 languages (e.g., a French-only colonial-era guide).
